Lee Roy Dennis, 85, of Woodville, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be Friday, September 10th at 3:00 p.m. in the Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with burial in Campground Cemetery near Woodville. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 9th from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Lee Roy was born August 24, 1919 to Dock Franklin and Ollie Licinia Seals Dennis in Bowen, AR. He was a longtime resident of Woodville and was retired store manager for Mann Furniture Store. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and member of New Shiloh Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Owen "Monkey" Dennis and son-in-law, Bo Stafford. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nyla Dennis of Woodville; sons & daughter-in-law, Lee Roy "Butch" & Cathey Dennis, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Tommy & Della Dennis of Tulsa, OK, Dusty & Laquita Dennis of Woodville, Rowland & Mary Dennis of Nederland and Gerald Wayne "Pete" & Johnnie Dennis of Woodville; daughters, Beverly Stafford of Woodville and Wanda Oronigo of Dalton, GA; daughter-in-law, Martha Dennis of Woodville; a very special niece, Janice Owen of Oklahoma; twenty four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to New Shiloh Baptist Church, P.O. Box 52, Woodville, TX 75979.
