Death ended the agony of Robert Baxendale early Tuesday morning. The 59 year old Strang man died at the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln from burns received when a kerosene can exploded in his hands at his home on the evening of October 6. His wife died at the Hebron hospital on October 7, from burns caused by the same explosion.
Robert Henry Baxendale was born in the state of Illinois on September 14, 1873. He moved from there to Kansas and came to this state from there. He served in the Spanish-American war as a United States soldier.
He was married to Jessie Florence Cox in 1899. To this union was born three children, Nellie (Robert) Cooper of Sapulpa, Okla., and two sons, Claude and Lawrence, who reside in Strang.
