Myra A. Sievert, age 92, formerly of Kiel, died peacefully Saturday morning, July 14, 2007 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein where she resided the past three months.. She had been a resident of Willowpark, New Holstein the past two years. Myra was born April 20, 1915 in the Town of Stockbridge, daughter of the late Edward E. and Eliza Fritz Lindner. The family moved to the Valders area in 1921 where she attended Roselawn School. On December 7, 1940, Myra was united in marriage to Edwin P. Sievert in Valders. Edwin preceded her in death on November 1, 1991. Myra and Edwin farmed in the Town of Schleswig until 1959 when they moved to Kiel. She then worked at the former Cal's Restaurant, Kiel and the Salvatorian Center, New Holstein prior to retirement. Myra was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kiel. Survivors include her children: Ronald (Nancy) Sievert, Surprise, AZ, Lynn (Anthony) Lax, Sheboygan, Lyle Sievert, Rosemount, MN, granddaughters, Kim Sievert of AZ, Deborah (Jeffrey) Holt, Sheboygan, Rebecca Sosso, of MN, grandsons, Bryan Sievert & fiancé, Arlene Berry of Texas, Brett (Jessica) Sievert of CO, Douglas Lax of Kiel and Patrick Sievert of MN. She is further survived by great grandchildren, Eric Graber, Jeb, Robert & Alexandria Holt, Chad & Breann Lax, Matthew & Anna Grace Sosso, Aden Sievert, step great granddaughter, Krystle Redferd. She is further survived by one sister, Stella Olson, Manitowoc, numerous nieces, one nephew, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, one granddaughter, Darla Jean Lax, two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Viola & Frank Peters, Loretta & Louis Ibe and Kenneth Olsen.
