CARL W. PETZOLD

Carl W. Petzold, 93, of Kiel, died Friday evening at Toth Nursing Home, Chilton, where he had been a resident for about five years.

He was born Jan. 9, 1876, in the Town of Sheboygan, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Petzold, and later lived in the Town of Schleswig in Manitowoc County.

His marriage to Elisa Balz took place May 16, 1901. They lived in Kiel where he was employed at the J. B. Laun Co. and at Stoelting Bros. Co. Mr. Petzold was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel.

He also was a former active member of the Kiel Fire Department and was an honorary member at the time of his death.

The couple observed their 62nd wedding anniversary in 1963. Mrs. Petzold died in December of that year.

Surviving are a son, Calvin, Kiel; two grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
Preceding him in death were a sister, a brother and a grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. John F. Baumann, pastor of St. Peter's Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery. - 1970
