GUSTAVE PETZOLD

Death came as a relief to Gustave Petzoldt(sic) on Thursday, February 3rd, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wm. Diefenthaler, Sr., in the town of New Holstein, following a stroke.

He was born in Germany, September 24, 1850, and came to this country at the age of 9 years, settling with his parents near Sheboygan. In 1874 he was married to Pauline Goebel.

The couple made their home near Sheboygan; after three years they moved on a farm near Millhome, in the town of Schleswig, where they lived until 14 years ago, when they sold their farm to their son William and moved to this city. His wife died 7 years ago.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Rohde, Sr., and Mrs. J. Kappelmann of Sheboygan; three children, Carl of this city, William of town Schleswig, and Mrs. Wm. Diefenthaler, Sr., of town New Holstein; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday at the Reformed church officiated by Rev. O. Saewert. The remains were interred in the Kiel cemetery.
