Mrs. Mary C. Haehl Aged Over Eighty Years
Passes Away At Her Home
----------
DEATH DUE TO SENILITY; FOUR CHILDREN SURVIVE
----------
Had Lived in Union Township Continuously For Seventy-Four Years

FUNERAL SUNDAY MORNING
----------
A mother such as only the pioneer days in Indiana produces passed away at six o'clock this morning, when Mrs. Mary C. Haehl died at the home of her son, George Haehl, in Union township, of senility, aged eighty years, seven months and one day. Mrs. Haehl, whose maiden name was Zeisz, was born in Germany. She moved to Shelby county with her parents when only six years of age, and has always resided in Union township since that time. She certainly was one of the pioneers of this county, having continuously resided in the same township for seventy-four years. When a mere slip of a girl she married George Haehl, who died in 1855. Nothing daunted by the fact that she had a family of small children, Mrs. Haehl managed to give each of them a good education, and to accumulate a nice competency of this world's goods. She is survived by one son and three daughters, George Haehl and Mrs. Caroline Witz, of Union township, and Mrs. Rosena Theobald, of this city. One sister, Mrs. Henrietta Rapp, of this city, also survives. The funeral cortege will leave the home of the deceased at 10 o'clock Sunday morning. The services will be held in the Mt. Zion's Protestant church at 11 o'clock, the Rev. Mr. Mann, of Homer, officiating. Interment in the German cemetery, Stewart & Fix in charge.
