US ARMY REVOLUTIONARY WAR
REVOLUTIONARY WAR PATRIOT
Ezekiel Hampton, Sr. has been thought to be son of the Revolutionary War Patriot, Col. Andrew Hampton, buried in Rutherfordton, Rutherford County, N.C. Evidence now suggests Ezekiel was the son of that Andrew's cousin Andrew who lived in Granville County, then moved to Georgia. Granville Co. is on the far northern border with Virginia, while Tryon/Rutherford Co. is in the far south-western border with SC. Further research is pending, including Rutherford (Col.) Andrew's will which I posted on Col. Andrew Hampton's memorial. It lists his children without naming Ezekiel. Much of this site was created by cousin Autumn who sadly has passed. I'll update as I can. If you have any evidence clarifying the two Andrews, please email me. Roger

"Ezekiel Jr, d.1848, is buried in the James Bailey Cemetery on Jacks Creek. I have visited this place and he and his wife Susannah's graves are indeed there. They are not on Bailey Hill. Neither is daughter Bridget - she and her husband William Gutridge Garland are in the Old Garland Cemetery at Red Hill. Please change all this, so people won't be searching Bailey Hill futilely."
Jeff and Mark suggest his burial site is unknown, but also added this note:
