Mrs. Sarah Abbott of Bandon was killed almost instantly shortly before 7:00 o'clock last night on the Elk River Road about a mile west of the R. L. Wagner place.
She was returning to Bandon in a car driven by Jim Smith, when suddenly the lights of the car went out and the car ran off the road and turned over. Mrs. Abbott was pinned underneath. Mrs. Abbott was 69 years of age and has lived here for several years. She was the mother of Mrs. Cottonware, who resided here until recently.
The body is at the Schroeder & Gano mortuary awaiting word from relatives.
