James B. Little, 89, of Abilene died Friday night, July 27, 2007 in Hendirck Medical Center.
He was born December 17, 1917 in Hallettsville, Texas and came to Winters as a child and grew up in Winters. He attended college at A. & M. and served in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 22 years in 1971 and was in the reserves for nine years. He married Melba Thomas on July 7, 1942 in Winters. They moved to Abilene where he worked in the water department for the City of Abilene retiring in 1981, they lived in Weatherford for a while and returned to Abilene. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Abilene.
Survivors are: his wife, Melba Little of Abilene; 1 daughter, Melissa Little Windham of Abilene; 2 grandsons, Joseph and John Michael; 1 granddaughter, Jayme and husband Clif Pittman of Weatherford; 1 great-grandson, Xzavier; 1 great-granddaughter, Autumn; Special cousin, Lucille Gowin of Abilene; Special Friends, Keith and Suzanne Meredith; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank, Dr. David Randell and his nurses Lisa, Juanita and Christy for their wonderful care and compassion.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Abilene with Rev. John Tunnel officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Winters at 3:00 p.m. under the direction of the Winters Funeral Home.
