Sergeant, Orange County Militia - First Regiment, aka: Colonel Jesse Woodhull's Regiment, Orange County, New York, Revolutionary War.

(Sergeant) Jesse Brewster (1754-1838) and his wife, Rachel (Smith) Brewster, were charter members of the Romulus Presbyterian Church, April 04, 1802.

The original Romulus Presbyterian Church, dedicated in 1809, once stood in what is now Mount Green Cemetery. The "Old Churchyard" is also located within Mount Green Cemetery.

It is believed that Jesse's wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Matilda (Brewster) Hayward are buried in the "Old Churchyard" at Romulus.

A letter dated, Jan. 1838, from his grandson Plato Brewster Hayward in Northfield, Summit County, Ohio, to his brother Stephen Hayward in Plymouth, Wayne County, Michigan, reporting the death of "Grandfather Brewster" leads re- searchers to believe that Sgt. Jesse Brewster died in Northfield, Ohio and is probably buried in the Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery.

For additional information see book entitled, MANY OF THE DESCENDANTS OF THE REV. NATHANIEL BREWSTER: EIGHT GENERATIONS, 1999, Jeanne E Brown Killick, Privately Printed, Plainwell, Michigan, Pages 56-58, 114-116, 176-179.
