Sergeant, Orange Co. Militia - 1st Regiment, aka: Colonel Jesse Woodhull's Regiment, Orange Co., New York, Revolutionary War.
Jesse Brewster and his wife, Rachel (Smith) Brewster, were charter members of the Rolumus Presbyterian Church, April 04, 1802.
The original Romulus Presbyterian Church, dedicated in 1809, once stood in what is now Mount Green Cemetery. The "Old Churchyard" is also located within Mount Green Cemetery.
It is believed that Jesse's wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Matilda (Brewster) Hayward are buried in the "Old Churchyard" at Romulus.
A letter dated, Jan. 1838, from his grandson Plato Brewster Hayward in Northfield, Summit County, Ohio, to his brother Stephen Hayward in Plymouth, Wayne Co., Michigan, reporting the death of "Grandfather Brewster" leads re- searchers to believe that Sgt. Jesse Brewster died in Northfield, Ohio and is probably buried in the Northfield-Macedonia Cemetery.
