The Castleman brothers, who reside northwest of Rochester, have just received word of the death of their brother, Bert Castleman, of Garvin, Minn. He passed away in his sleep from a heart attack (19 Nov).
Bert was born May 27, 1875 on a farm a half mile west of the Rochester city park. He was the son of Caleb and Ida ONSTOTT CASTLEMAN. He grew to manhood in Fulton and Marshall counties, with the exception of seven years residency in Missouri.
Mr. Castleman was married to Stella SCHERUEMAN on Feb. 3, 1901 and with his wife immigrated to North Dakota where they homesteaded a claim near Minot. They resided on this farm until 1920 when they moved to Garvin.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Lowell of Bantry, ND, Robert, of Boleton, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Marie STEWART of Boleton, ND and Mrs. Eva CARLSON of Marshall, Minn.; four brothers and two sisters, Olin, Clarence, Clyde and Vern of near Rochester; Mrs. Bessie WERNER of Culver (IN) and Mrs. Bertha BAILEY of South Bend, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Boleton Funeral Home and burial will be in the Boleton cemetery.
