RITES SLATED FOR DAIRYMAN R. P. ANTHONY
Funeral was to be held Monday at 3 pm in the Pisgah Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church for Rufus Pressley Anthony. 61. well known dairy farmer of Linwood Rd who died at 5 p m on Saturday at his home

Dr. M. B Grier, pastor of the church and Dr. W. L. Pressley of Kings Mountain were to conduct the service. Burial was to be in the church cemetery

Mr. Anthony had been ill for three months. He had been in failing health for several years. he was a native of Gaston County and was a veteran of World War I. He had served two terms as a deacon of the Pisgah Church and was a, member of Holland Memorial Masonic Lodge
The dairyman was the first in Gaston county to begin the pasteurization of milk and he also was a pioneer in the artificial breeding process of cattle In 1955. because of ill health. he sold his dairy to Farmer's Dairy of Charlotte.

Survivors include his wife. Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Pearson Anthony, two sons. R. P. Jr.. and W. F: Anthony. both of Gastonia, two grandchildren. Reba and Halt Anthony; three brothers. Dr. J. E. Anthony of Kings Mountain, Dr. W. A. Anthony and L. L. Anthony, both of Gastonia; a sister, Mrs. J. G. Shannon Gastonia.

Active pallbearers were to be J. E. Jr., and Dr. L. L. Anthony Jr., Henry A. Shannon. Dr. E. S. Whitesides, and H. M. Whitesides.
