Dorothy was born in Jefferson County, Indiana on January 15, 1924, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ethel (Davidson) Gorrell. She married Cedric "Dee" Aldridge July 26, 1946 and he preceded her in death Jan 3, 2008.
She graduated from New Salem High School in and was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her son Mike (Brenda) Aldridge of Rushville; four grandchildren Jeff (Amanda) Aldridge of Greenfield, Jason (Heather) Aldridge of Shelbyville & Amy Aldridge of Rushville; five great grandchildren Kayla, Alayna, Bethany, Renee & Corinne Aldridge also survive; a sister Edith Angle of New Salem and sister in law Coral Gorrell of Terre Haute also survive.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Gerald & Alan Gorrell.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10am Tuesday June 7th at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Pastor Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Monday June 6th from 4 to 8pm at the funeral centre.
