Earl Curtis Achord Sr. died Sunday, June 16, 2002, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 61 and a resident of Denham Springs. Visitation was at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Monday until religious services, Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Terry Booth. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Anita Parker Achord; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Earl C. Achord Jr., Willie J. and Jane Achord and R. Jason and Tami Achord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita L. and John Fabre and Rebecca A. and Jacob Kropog; two brothers, Huey L. and Willie A. Achord; and seven grandchildren, Ashlee Achord, Josh Lusk, Jacob Achord, Jordyn Achord, Earl C. Achord III, Dave Guidroz and B.J. Guidroz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Robert and Beulah Harris Achord; 17 brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Calvin Lamman Tyler. He was an avid sportsman, a member of the Ironworkers Union Local 623 and a founding member of the Live Oak Sports Association.
