Had Resided In This
Community For 71 Years

Mr Andrew A Anderson was born at Borgajo, Westmanland, Sweden on May 1, 1855. He was baptized in infancy and in 1870, at the age of 15, he was confirmed. The same year his parents, Anders and Kristina Anderson, with their two sons, Andrew and Peter, emigrated to America and settled on a homestead near Fish Lake, Minnesota.

On August 28, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Lillie Carolina Lindberg of Fish Lake. This union was blessed with one daughter, now the wife of Dr. E N Nordin of this city.

In 1905, he moved with his family to Rush City. During the first two years Mr Anderson together with his brother-in-law, Mr Lindberg, had charge of the hotel. Having disposed of his interests in the hotel, he started a furniture store and remained as furniture dealer until 1932, when he retired. In 1906, the family affiliated with the First Lutheran church and were always faithful members. His wife passed away on August 8, 1919. From that time until his death he made his home with the Nordin family. For several years his health has been failing, but he has been able to be up and around until about a week ago when he was taken to the hospital and there he passes away on Sunday morning at 2 o'clock at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 1 day.

He is survived by his son-in-law and daughter [Irene], Dr And Mrs Nordin, three grand children; Verna, Eunice, and Hartley Nordin; three nieces and one nephew, besides a large number of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Lutheran church by Dr T A Conrad on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Two vocal duets were rendered by Mrs Einar Larson and Mrs Theo E Conrad, accompanist was Mrs C C Wilson and a vocal solo was rendered by Mrs Conrad. Burial was made in the First Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles A Johnson, Charles Holmberg, Charles O Olson, John H Nelson, Carl H Sommer, and Hjalmar Golliander.

The church was filled with friends, relatives and old neighbors who gathered to pay their last respects to their friend. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
