Obituary:
"Mrs. Mary Jane Mattingly Beatty on March 15, 1947, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Sands, in Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Beatty was born July 25, 1863. She was married to J. W. Beatty in April 1884. He preceded her in death a little over six years ago. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. W. H. Pryor of Leitchfield; Mrs. J. K. Green; Mrs. J. C. Sands of Louisville; Mrs. Lonnie Robinson of Constantine; W. C. Beatty, of Leitchfield; and O. L. Beatty of Louisville. Three of her children died in infancy. She leaves two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Ben Taylor of Louisville, Mrs. J. A. Goff of Leitchfield and Elza Mattingly of Shrewsbury. Mrs. Beatty was laid to rest beside her husband, William J. Beatty who was born in 1862 and died in 1940. they are buried in the Eveleigh Cemetery. She was a member of the Eveleigh Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She had 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren."

Her death certificate #6154, shows cause of death as influenza. Mrs. W. H. Pryor was informant (her daughter Cova).
