6-2-2020: Funeral services for Cleve Adkins, 83, who died Saturday will be on Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home, with burial in Maroa Cemetery, Maroa. Mr. Adkins died Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in his home at 1857 E. William St. He was a retired farmer. A resident of Decatur for 50 years, he moved here from Hamilton, Ohio. He was born on July 30, 1885 near Berea, Ky., a son of Emanuel and Susan Cain Adkins. He belonged to First Baptist Church. During World War I he served in the Marines. He married Jennie Calohan In Hamilton, Ohio on July 30, 1913. She survives. He leaves a daughter. Mrs. Jerry (Nancy) McDowell of Decatur, four grandchildren and a great grandchild. A son, Donald, preceded him in death. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
