Although she had joyfully and hopefully assisted the family on Saturday in preparing for the celebration of Easter, and apparently was in the best of health, Mrs. Hannah Benner, widow of Samuel Benner, of Vera Cruz, merely lived to see the glory of the early day, for upon arising yesterday morning at 6.30, she was almost immediately stricken with apoplexy, dying almost instantly in her bedroom. Deceased was eighty-seven years, four months and twenty-two days of age, and although of so advanced an age, she was in excellent health, did much sewing daily, assisted in other household work in the family of her son Samuel, with whom she resided, and was very cheerful. Mrs. Benner is survived by the following children: Samuel and Mrs. Henry Funk, of Vera Cruz; George and Mrs. Lillie Miller, Emaus; James, Allentown; Levinus, Quakertown. Rev. D. C. Kaufman will conduct the funeral services on Friday at the home at 9.30, followed by further services in the Chestnut Hill Church and interment in the cemetery adjoining.
