She was born on 16 September 1924, the second child and only daughter of George and Stella Morlang Evans. The family was living on Quay Ave., in the section of Scranton known as Peacock Hill on the West Mountain. Across the street lived her paternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. In 1928, the family moved across town to 1229 Blucher Ave. on the East Mountain.

Audrey attended elementary school at John Bartram #37 on Wintermantle Ave., and later South Scranton Junior High School and Scranton Central High School. She was a June 1942 honors graduate of Scranton Central High School. After high school she went to work for Retail Credit Co.

She married Thomas Price on 15 April 1950. They had one son, Thomas Robert. After Tom's death on 5 July 1955, she returned to work at Retail Credit. A few years later she went to work at Harper & Row Publishers, which had just opened an office in Scranton. She retired after 35 years from Harper, which later became Harper Colins Publisher.

She died at Community Care Hospice after suffering from a stroke. After donating her body to science (The Pennsylvania State University Medical School), her wishes were to have her ashes were scattered at Spring Lake, New Jersey.

Aside from her son, and his wife Cyndie of Dunmore, she was survived by her two grandchildren, Randy and Rachael, both of Scranton, and a brother, Rev. George I. Evans of Cornwall. She was preceded in death by a brother Rev. Paul F. Evans of Salem, Oregon and a great-grandson, Evan Fitz Schultz-Price.
