She started school at Pocahontas Elementary School, but by 1957 the family had moved to Festus, Missouri. She graduated from the Festus schools in 1966 and married her high school sweetheart, Herbert Allen "Herb" Secrease on Nov. 9, 1967, in San Diego, California. They had two children, Christina "Chris" and Jeffrey "Jeff" Secrease. They lived in Missouri and Davenport, Iowa, and moved on to Florida, where her brothers Bill and Carlos, Jr., already lived. Their parents and brother Bob Wright soon joined them in Florida.
Edwina worked in banking for many years until the multiple sclerosis she had been diagnosed with in her early 30's finally curtailed her ability to work. On January 13, 1997, she and Herb divorced. She lived semi- independently with Jeff for a few years; then, she moved in with her parents so they could look after her. Her father became disabled due to serious health issues, and her mother was diagnosed with cancer and died on April 26, 2006.
Edwina moved in with her daughter, Christina Secrease Harrison, and stayed with her until her death on December 18, 2009, due to complications of multiple sclerosis. According to her wishes her body was cremated, the ashes to be scattered on the ocean.
She was survived by her daughter Christina Harrison of New Port Richey, Florida, and her son Jeff Secrease of Orlando, Florida; her father, Carlos E. Wright, Sr., of New Port Richey, Florida; her brothers: Bob Wright of Hudson, Florida, Bill Wright of New Port Richey, and Carlos E. "Carl" Wright, Jr., of Wellington, Colorado. She is greatly missed by her family.
