Madeline "Madge" Prevett Wright was born on December 23, 1926, in Warm Springs, Arkansas, to Joseph E. "Joe" and Mae Morris Prevett. She started school in Warm Springs and graduated from the high school in Maynard, Arkansas, in 1944, along with her sister Ondalee "Toots" Prevett. On August 25, 1947, she married Carlos Edwin Wright. The pair resided in St. Louis, Missouri; Pocahontas, Arkansas; Hillsboro & Festus, Missouri; and Hudson, Florida. They had four children: Edwina Jean was born on July 8, 1948, Bob on January 28, 1950, Bill on August 17, 1953, and Carlos E., Jr., on November 1, 1962. Edwina was the first to marry in 1967, and her brothers' marriages, as well as grandchildren for Madge and Carlos, followed through the years.

Madge and Carlos moved to Hudson, Florida, from Festus, Missouri, in 1994. She was a retired customer service representative for Sears in Festus, with over 20 years of service. She also continued to help manage businesses her husband had founded in the Festus area. She and Carlos were both members of the Church of Christ in New Port Richey.

Madge, age 79, of Hudson, Florida, died of cancer on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Marliere Care Center, New Port Richey, FL. She was survived by her husband, Carlos E. Wright, Sr., of Hudson; sons, Bob Wright of Hudson, Bill Wright of New Port Richey and Carlos E. "Carl" Wright, Jr., of Laramie, Colorado; daughter, Edwina Secrease of New Port Richey; sisters, Patsy Jo Rapert of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and Ondalee Littrell of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd L. Prevett, Sr., of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She is missed and remembered with love and admiration by all who knew her well.
