Mrs. Gladys M. Allen, 62, of 20 Lenox Street, died Sunday at the Maine Medical Center, Portland, after a short illness.
She was born in Shapleigh on November 20, 1904, daughter of Maurice and Mabel Noyes Beal, and was a former employee of the Goodall Sanford Textile Mills here. Mrs. Allen was a member of the West Newfield OES Chapter.
Surviving are her mother Mrs. Mabel Beal, North Berwick; two sons, the Rev. Royal G. Davis of Middletown, Conn., and Irving Davis of Sanford; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Sutton, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Arthur Beal, West Newfield; a sister Mrs. Vernon Meader, North Berwick; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Hurd Funeral Home, 10 Winter Street, with the Rev. Frederick Robie, Jr., of the North Parish Congregational Church officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale.
