Margaret [Casey] Dolby was born in late 1797, daughter of John Casey III and Rebecca [Proud] Casey. She married Luther Dolby on Long Island about 1815. After the birth of their first two children, Mary Jane Dolby (1816-1905) and Stephen Dolby (1818-1820), the family headed west to Ohio in 1820 in a wagon. Little Stephen became ill and died along the way. The family first settled in Butler County, Ohio, where 4 more children were born, Drucilla Dolby (abt.1821), Heldreth Dolby (abt.1823), George Hiram Dolby (1827-1885) and William Hastings Dolby (1829-1914). Sometime in the 1830s, the family moved to Ripley County, Indiana, where Margaret died in early 1843.
