Alva Glen Fenton, 90, son of Bessie (Willett) Fenton and Edward Fenton was born March25, 1909 near Plano, Iowa, and departed his life June 15, 1999 at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital. He had been living at the Golden Age Care Center since March, 1997
He is survived by one brother, Wilbur Fenton , of Centerville; two sisters, Floy Hensley of Chariton, Iowa, and Beulah Mickels of Centerville. Also two nephews, Richard Hensley and wife, Nellie, of Chariton and Robert
Hensley and wife, Marie, of Tarnell, Arizona, two nieces, Jane Hobart and husband, Robert, of Canton, Illinois and Jean Downing and husband, Jack, of Benidji, Minnesota., numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Chariton River (Brushy) Baptis Church and had farmed most of his life until retiring and moving to Centerville in September 1992.
His parents preceded him in death in March, 1975, and also two brothers-in-law.
Graveside services will be held at the Brushy Cemetery north of Plano, Iowa, on Thursday, June 17th at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Carl Helen officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home with with the family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Brushy Cemetery.
