Dale C. Bennett, 65, of Newman, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at his home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Joines Funeral Home. Newman. Burial was in the Fairfield Cemetery near Fairfield. He was born May 21, 1916, at Sidell, a son of Clark and Bertha Swigert Bennett. He married June Howe on March 15, 1944, at Newman. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Claude Bennett of Sullivan and Larry Bennett of Brocton; a daughter, Darlene Hutchinson of Newman; five grandchildren; two brothers, Boyd Bennett of Brocton and Hugh Bennett of Newman; and three sisters, Georgian Watson of Newman, Roeanna Van Dyke of Newman and Delia Wilson of Chrisman. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Stanton Burgett American Legion Post No. 201, the Edgar Masonic Lodge No. 829, the Newman Lions Club and the Brocton United Methodist Church.
