Newman - RoeAnna VanDyke, 85, of Newman died at 6 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 19, 1992) at home. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday at Joines Funeral Home, 301 W. Gillogly St., Newman. The Rev. Carl Fox will [sic] officiate. Burial was in Cherry Point Cemetery, near Chrisman. Visitation was from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. VanDyke was born Aug. 10, 1907, in Edgar County, a daughter of Clark and Bertha Swigart Bennett. She married Ephraim VanDyke Aug. 31, 1949, at Albion. He survives. Also surviving are a sister Delia Wilson of Manchester, Mich. She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. Mrs. Van Dyke was a member of the Hume Christian Church and Newman American Legion Auxiliary. She owned and operated Sally Ann Beauty Shop in Newman for 45 years. NEWMAN (Ill.)
