Mr. Kolb died April 19, 2007, in a Palestine hospice.
He was born March 17, 1927, in Rotan, Texas to the late Alva C. and Ruby Helm Kolb. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired as a welding superintendent from Brown & Root Marine Operators in Houston.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Elkhart, past master of Elkhart Masonic Lodge No. 400, member of East Houston Order of Eastern Star No. 955 and Palestine Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Evalene Kolb, Elkhart; daughter, Alpha Eileen Libby, Houston; brothers, Alva Kolb Jr., Kerrville, and Reeves Kolb, Crockett; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Johnny Collums, Justin Collums, Nolan Nichols, Vaughn Pierson, Mitchell Coleman and Gary Nichols.
