All of the children of Jefferson D Jimerson are buried in Henry Co TN except for Jeffie James buried in MO and Willie Jimerson Wilson in Calloway Co, KY.
Jeff was 17 y/o when he enlisted at Paris, TN as a private in 46th Infantry of the Confederate States Army (CSA). He was one of the soldiers left to guard Island 10, in the Mississippi River near New Madrid MO and Reelfoot Lake TN, while the other Confedrates fled the Island. Although the manner is unknown, Jeff escaped Island 10 when the Union forces began capturing the Confederates. Many of the Confederates used drift wood and other material as floatation devices in the river. After Island 10 and before Shiloh the 46th TN Infantry was changed to the 5th TN Infantry. Pvt Jeff Davis Jimerson also survived the dreadful battle at Shiloh, Mississippi. He returned home after the war and continued his life as a farmer and a father of 11 children, 6 daughters and 5 sons.
