Eldredge O. Arenburg, 84, retired electrician, lived in Stoughton for 61 years

STOUGHTON - Eldredge O. Arenburg, 84, of Stoughton, husband of Lillian M. (Blanchard) Arenburg, died Saturday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton, after a period of failing health.
Born in Nova Scotia, he came to this country at the age of 5 and attended Brockton schools. He had lived in Stoughton for 61 years since his marriage.
Mr. Arenburg was a retired electrician and worked for Mellman Electric Co. in Brockton for many years, retiring in the early 1980s. During World War II, he was a welder at Fore River Shipyard in Quincy and worked on the battleship Massachusetts.
He enjoyed camping with his family and took many annual camping trips to Nova Scotia.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his twin son and daughter, Charles E. Arenburg of Stoughton and Elizabeth A. Wainwright of Middleboro; a brother, Harris Arenburg of Brockton; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was also brother of the late Marguerite Sanford.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton. The Rev. Dr. Henry James of the First United Methodist Church of Stoughton will officiate. Interment will be private.
