Lester Ray Moore, 58, of Peytona died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at home.
He was a disabled coalminer, a member of Mount Herman Church and attended Athea Chapel. He was a member of the UMW and the NRA and was a bluegrass gospel singer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Alzena "Doll" Moore, and brother, Timmy Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; son and his wife, Benjamin and Kathy Moore of Peytona; sister, Sue Kinder of Bloomingrose; brother, Darris Moore, also of Bloomingrose; two grandchildren, Jessica Gore and Brittany Moore; and stepmother, Maggie Moore of Orgas.
Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in Halstead Cemetery, Middle White Oak, Peytona, with the Rev. Timothy Oaks and Jeff Howerton officiating.
Friends may call one hour prior to service Saturday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville.
