After the birth of their first child and the second on the way, Bob served in Occupied Germany in 1946. He was a very handsome man. He was also very charming and got along well with people. They had three more children.
The family relocated several times after leaving Laurel, NE, including Arvada, CO, Grand Island, NE, and Sioux City, IA.
Meanwhile Bob left farming to become a salesman. He worked for S&H Green Stamps at the time of his death. He left his widow with five young children in ages from kindergarten to high school. The family was living in Sioux City at the time of his death.
Bob was greatly mourned by a number of people who filled the church to overflowing at his funeral. I believe he is buried in Sioux City. His son and wife have followed him in death.
