Mr. Ernest E. Ahalt, 78, of 7327 Ridge Road, Frederick, died Thursday, Oct. 1, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Madeline Stroup Ahalt.
Born in Middletown, July 12, 1903, he was a son of the late Albert M. and Norma Beachley Ahalt.
Mr. Ahalt owned and operated a farm in the Middletown Valley until his retirement in 1966.
He was a member for over 50 years of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, and the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday School.
Surviving, besides his wife, are one daughter, Suzanne E. Whitter, Braddock Heights; a son-in-law, Marion J. Whitter III; one sister, Mrs. Mae B. Burger, Port Charlotte, Fla.; one granddaughter, Kelly Ann Whitter, Braddock Heights, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, formerly Gladhill's, Middletown, anytime Friday, Oct. 2, where the family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Services will be held from the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Interment will be at the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
