Born May 2, 1913, in Pulaski Co., VA, she was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Myrtle Alice Phillips Wilson.
Mrs. Atkinson was a retired nurse and had worked at Children's Hospital in Washington, D.C. She had also worked at Veit Furniture in Hanover. She was a member of Manchester Baptist Church where she had been a secretary for 20 years and sang in the choir. She enjoyed gardening.
She was the wife of the late Paul Atkinson and is survived by her brother, Herbert H. Wilson and wife, Irene of Essex, MD; sister-in-law Donna Wilson of Radford, VA; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Vonnie W. Simpkins, Edith Linkus, and Opal Phillips; and brothers, David and Voyce Wilson.
