EIGHTH AND NINTH CHILDREN of Johann Christoph Bierbaum and Florentine (Johanningmeier) Bierbaum were twins Anna Maria Magdalena and Heinrich Wilhelm, baptized on May 28, 1871, three days after birth.

The twins three baptismal sponsors were as follows:

(1) Magdalena Mettler, 1813-1892. She was the mother of Susanna Mettler, second wife of the babies' paternal uncle, Johann Friedrich Bierbaum, 1834-1905.

(2) "Anna Maria" Johanningmeier, who was actually Maria (Drahn) Johanningmeier, the twins' aunt by marriage, and the wife of Heinrich Wilhelm "William" Johanningmeier, 1851-1907, and...

(3) Heinrich Wilhelm "William" Johanningmeier himself, the babies' maternal uncle.

(1871 Birth/Baptisms, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Elkport, Clayton County, Iowa.)

Anna's stone reads, ANNA M. M., Dau. of J. C. & F. M. BIERBAUM. Born May 25, 1871, Died Sep. 9, 1871.

Anna died at 3 months 15 days of age.

According to the photo provided on this page, Anna's stone has broken from the base (perhaps still in the ground) since I photographed it in the 1980s. At that time her stone was upright. The stone of her brother, "John F.," displaced from within the row, was placed directly in front of hers.
