William Vickers was a native of Irwin County, Ga. and a son to the late Eli and Rebecca Vickers.
William Marshall Vickers was a highly respected citizen of Coffee County in his days and was a good farmer.
He served as Representative from Coffee County (1886-87) and Treasurer of Coffee County (1899-1901) and again (1905-07) and as Coroner (1903-05). His son Richard was Treasurer in (1909-11).
Mr. Vickers served as a PRIVATE in Company 'A' of the 61st Georgia Regiment in CSA . His wife drew his pension after his death.
He married on March 22, 1868 to Frances Lott (daughter of Daniel) of Telfair County.
