Mrs. Merle Arndt Dies in Anadarko; Burial at Apache
Services were in the Harvey chapel at 2:30 p.m. Sunday for Mrs. Merle Arndt, 64-year-old Carnegie woman, who died in an Anadarko hospital May 27. Burial was in the Apache cemetery under direction of the Harvey Funeral Home of Fort Cobb.
Mrs. Arndt was born in Saffordville, Kan., Feb. 18, 1884. She came to Apache in 1901 and lived near there until 1942 when she moved to Carnegie where she has since made her home.
She was married to R.C. Arndt Sept. 23, 1903, in El Reno. Mr. Arndt died in 1932. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include two sons, Roy H. Arndt, Modesto, Calif., and Herbert Arndt, Apache, and one daughter, Mrs. Lela L. Jantz of Carnegie. Also surviving are four brothers, one sister, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
