MRS. EVA BARKLEY
BATH – Mrs. Eva Barkley died late Sunday afternoon at her home on High street in Bradford following a three weeks' illness.
Born in Bradford September 18, 1861 to William and Philanda Sanford, she was married to the late William R. Barkley on February 13, 1884. A life-long resident of Bradford, she had been a teacher in early life and secretary of the Bradford Chapter of the American Red Cross for many years.
The body has been taken to the Waldo Funeral Home, Bath, and will be taken to her late home in Bradford Tuesday where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. Thomas W. Carter, pastor emeritus of the Baptist Church of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Hazel Barkley of Bradford; sons, Clarence, Savona, Ansel, Orlando, Fla., Wilson, Bradford; Lewis, Niagara Falls; six grand-children and two great grand-children.
