Roy W Fisher 60, of 3730 W. Locust St., Davenport, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in St. Luke's Hospital,, after an illness of two weeks.
Born in Nashua, Iowa, Mr. Fisher married the former Sophie Manninga in 1924. He had been a foreman with the International Harvester, Farmall Works, Rock Island.
Mr Fisher was a deacon at the Calvary Baptist Church, and a former member of the church Board of Trustees.
He is survived by his wife; his parents, Mr. and mrs. Lester Fisher Nashua; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Cabel, Bettendorf, and Mrs. Jack (Carol) Briggs, Davenport; two sons, Virgil, LaPorte City Iowa, and Lester Davenport; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Verna Cagley Nashua, Mrs Bernice Vineyard, Coos Bay, Oregon, and Mrs. Marjorie Smith, Portland, Oregon; and two brothers, Lloyd, Ionia, Iowa, and Victor, Nashua. One sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Calvary Baptist Church, the Rev. Wallace Stark officiating. Burial will be in Davenport memorial Park.
Friends may call at the Hill & Fredericks Mortuary until 11 a.m. Friday when the body will be taken to the church. Those who wish make make a memorial contributions to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund.
