Short Illness Is Fatal To Harry Beach

Harry Thomas Beach, aged 38 years, passed away shortly after six o'clock, last night at his home on Maple avenue, following a short illness. His death was due to pneumonia, developing from an attack of grip. Hundreds of his friends, who were unaware that he was ill, were shocked last night when the news of his death became known. Apparently in the best of health, he had been engaged in his usual work up until last Sunday, and the suddenness of his death, and the good health that he appeared to be enjoying made the shock deeper still.

The deceased was born in Penfield, Pa., July 14, 1886, moving to DuBois early in life and spending the remainder of his time in this city. He was employed by the Avenue theatre, having worked there for the past 20 years. Mr. Beach was also an athlete and for many years was one of the mainstays on the DuBois baseball team and other baseball organizations of this section. He was a member of the B. P. O. E., the Acorn Club and the Protected Home Circle.

He is survived by his wife, formerly Mary J. Meyers, and three children, Devere, Josephine and Mansfield, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Beach and the following sisters and brothers - Mrs. H. C. Davis, Charles E. Beach, Maud Frody, Clarence W. Beach and James F. Beach, all of DuBois.
