Death of B. C. Anderson,

The Older residents of the county will remember B. C. Anderson, who lived at Isadora, many years ago, and is a half brother to Rinaldo Brown of Isadora. the following account of his death is taken from a Wessington S. D. paper.

Byron Carpenter Anderson was born in **Shawnee, Niagara County, New York, March 17th, 1838. He was married January 1st, 1868 to Mary J. Rybolt. after marriage he with his wife moved to New York and from there to Iowa. Eleven children were born to them, three sons and eight daughters. Two of them died in infancy, the other two sons and seven daughters are still living. Mr. Anderson moved with his family to this state in 1883, taking up a farm in Hand county. He moved to Wessington about seven years ago. He was a patriotic man having served four years in the civil war, and came of a patriotic family, four of his brothers were also soldiers of their county.

After several months of suffering which he endured with patience and heroic fortitude, our dear brother passed peacefully away at the Sanitarium, Chamberlain, S.D., at five o'clock a.m. Sunday August 2nd, 1908. Having finished his allotted span of three score years and ten, he died and was gathered to that great many of noble veterans whom their country delighted to honor.

His WAR RECORD

Byron Carpenter Anderson enlisted April 19th, 1861. He mustered in, May 22nd, 1861, private Company K, muster out June 2nd, 1863. Re-enlisted December 30, 1863, in company F, 8th N.Y. Heavy Artillery. Was with General Grant's Army from the Rapidan to Richmond. Promoted Corporal, March 4th, 1864, Sargeant, February 10th, 1865, was wounded at Farmville, Va., on April 6, 1865, was transferred to the 10th Regiment N. Y. Zouaves, April 20th, 1865. Was in Grand Review at Washington, D.C., at the close of the war. Mustered out at Hart's Island, New York City, July 5th, 1855. - WESSINGTON (S.D.) TIMES
