Obituary: Ken Martinson
LEHI, Utah - Charles Kenneth (Ken) Martinson, 81, of Lehi, died November 7, 2000 at his home of heart failure.
He was born January 13, 1919, in Salt Lake City to Charles Christian and Maude Grant Martinson.
He attended East High School. He married Jean Park in September of 1943.
He then married Lueen Kirkland in April 1970. They were later divorced.
He then married Ruth Foster March 25, 1984 in Magna, Utah.
Ken worked for himself as a landscaper and maintenance gardener for 50 years. He was the owner of Pine Wood Nursery for 20 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the position of High Priest. He loved gardening, dancing and visiting friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, John Park (Diane) Martinson, West Jordan; Scott Allen Martinson, Lynne Peterson, all of Salt Lake; and Pamela Martinson Ostermiller; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Paul (Betty) Martinson, Paradise, CA; one sister, Elynor Cavarreta, Hawthorn, CA.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, Ginger Kamauoha, Pennsylvania; John Kamauoha, Los Angeles, CA; Spencer Kamauoha, Oahu, Hawaii; Kaylani Kamauoha, Madras, Oregon; Janalee Malmrose, Taylorsville, Utah; Stuart Foster, Spokane, Washington; Henry Foster, Santa Barbara, CA; and Alisa Finch, Magna, Utah, his grandson, Ian Martinson is serving an LDS Mission in Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Lewis Carl Buetehorn; brother, Lewis Carl Buetehorn; sister, Viola Barrett; and brother, Howard Martinson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Lehi 8th Ward Chapel, 2790 North Center, Lehi.
Friends may call Friday evening at the Ward Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
