YOUNG BOY DIES OF PNEUMONIA ON THURSDAY

Evert Leroy Book, Youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Book, Passes Last Thursday

The home of Mr. and Mrs. I.B. Book near this city , was saddened on Thursday, Feb. 21, by the death of their youngest child, Evert Keroy [Leroy]. The young lad was but five years eight months and eighteen days of age, having been born on June 3, 1918. He had been a delicate child at first but for several years was strong and robust. About two weeks ago he was taken ill with a slight attack of stomach trouble not considered especially serious but double pneumonia set in and in a very short time he passed away. As the youngest child of a family of seven children dear to his parents and the older brothers and the sister it will be impossible to fill the place made vacant in the home. He was an especially bright and loving child and had endeared himself to the friends of the family and the children of the community.

Besides the father and mother, he leaves to mourn his passing five brothers, Fermon, Ethan, Lee, Lorain, Donald and a sister Irene. All the children are at home.

Services were held at the home on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 23, with the Rev. Quick in charge. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Book's brother, C.C. Royer of Adel, and R.H. Book of Perry and C.E. Book of Laurens, brothers of Mr. Book, were here to attend the funeral.(Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, Iowa, February 27, 1924)
