8. Emeline Hulitt 1844-1917 (m: John Roads)
9. Isabella Hulitt 1847-1894

Mother Hulitt, whoes mortal remains now lie before us, fell asleep in Jesus, sweetly and without pain last Saturday, April 9th, of the infirmities of old age, having been born in this vicinity, Dec 9th, 1809, aged 88 years and 4 months. Mother's maiden name was Miss Elizabeth Troth and she married Britton C. Hulitt, July 13th 1828 at the age of but little over eighteen. Father preceded mother to the grave nearly 11 years ago and beside whose remains we will shortly consign her beloved body. Nine children were born to this happy union six of whom have passed over and will welcome mother beyond the shores of time. Three of her children remain, Nathan, John, and Emeline, who together loving and tenderly cared for her during the closing hours of her long, eventful and wellspent life, and who together stood around her dying couch to bid her an affectionate farewell as she passed away. Mother early embraced religion, connecting herself with the church of the united Brethren in Christ. Continuing all her life an earnest, devoted and consistent member thereof, her name being at present enrolled a member of the Rainsboro society of that religious denomination. Hers was a broad, generous and amiable spirit that could and did readily affiliate with any branch of the Church who worshiped God in spirit and in truth. Father and mother were among the first children born in this township and each pledged there troth to the other at an early age and took upon themselves the cares, privations and toils of pioneer life, spending their children to be good and useful citizens, and in old age every virtue, human and divine, resulting from a well spend Christian Life was hers. -(April, 14 1898 The News-Herald Hillsboro, Ohio)
