Mysterious Death
Each day makes necessary the chronicle of some mystery based upon calamity to mankind. Last week Mr. James Bailey, formerly of Benton county but of late a resident near Cresswell, died suddenly while in the harvest field, but not laboring. He had gone out with his gun to shoot squirrels which were destroying his wheat, and after talking a few minutes with a young man and showing him how to swing the cradle, went to a fence near by and sat down. Soon he was seen lying down, when his son went to him and found him speechless but not appearing to be in any pain. He ceased to breathe shortly afterwards. Mr. Baily was advanced in life and usually enjoyed a fair degree of health. Mrs. Bailey keenly feels the loss of her companion and has the sympathy of her neighbors.
