TUSCALOOSA Virginia Farley Barr, age 77, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 15, 2011, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Bendall officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Lee "Bill" Barr; and her brothers and sisters, Ruth O'Bryant, Shelby Farley, James M. Farley, Clifford Farley, and Joe Howard Farley.
Survivors include her daughters, Lorraine Barr Hall (Harold) and Susan Barr Calhoun (Bob); her sisters, Sarah Farley Bagwell (Mitchell) and Betty Nell Frank; and her brother, Norman Hayes Farley.
She was the most loving mother we could have ever asked for. We love you, mama.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Mark Farley, Michael Farley, James Arnold Farley, Trent Townsend, and Glen Townsend, and friend, Jerome Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers are her nieces, Dr. Alisa Barr Johnson, Patsy Shows, Sharon B. Townsend, Suzanne Bagwell, and Shannon Lowery; all her nieces and nephews of the Dockery and Roddenberry families; Hospice of West Alabama; and her beloved companion Maggie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
