Lucile as she was known and called all her life was the daughter of John Millard and Emma Amanda (McADAMS) PORTER she was married 8 Jun 1929 in Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado to William Jackson "Bill" DOBY son of Christopher Columbus and Lillian Olivia "Lillie" (KENDALL) DOBY

MRS. ALTA LUCILE DOBY
VISTA, Calif.-Mrs. Alta Lucile DOBY, 63, died here Friday following an illness of many years.
Services will be at 2 p. m. in Martin Chapel in Grand Junction. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
Alta Lucile PORTER was born Dec. 8, 1903 at Whitman, Neb. She spent her childhood in Grand Junction and Fruita. She was a graduate nurse of St. Mary's and nursed at St. Mary's Hospital and Fitzsimons Hospital.
She married William DOBY on June 8, 1929, a farmer, died in Grand Junction in 1957.
She was a member of Neighbors of Woodcraft.
Survivors include a son, John in the U. S. Navy: two brothers, Roy W. SMITH and John M. PORTER, both of Clearfield, Utah: five sisters, Mrs. Nona BLISS of Grand Junction, Mrs. Herm ROWENHORST, Mrs. Arie VANDER-STOEP, and Mrs. Clarice FLIKKEMA, all of Orange City, Iowa, and Mrs. Robert RYAN of Hollywood, Calif.: two grandchildren: three step-sisters, Mrs. Ruth REED of Fruita, Mrs. Reba LISCHKE of Meeker, and Mrs. Margaret WHITE of California.
She was also survived by by a grandson Mark Doby and a granddaughter Valerie Doby.
