Sidney and Julia moved, in 1910, to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Sidney was the Supervisor of the Arkansas National Forest (which became the Ouchita National Forest). His office was on the 2nd Floor of the Old Post Office in Downtown Hot Springs. There they raised their four children. Thelma, Marie, Clifton and Guy DeWitt. Clifton died, tragically, of a brain aneurism at age 14 and is buried there in Greenwood Cemetery in Hot Springs. Guy DeWitt Chappell graduated from the Naval Academy at Annapolis.
