William Scott Foster died about the time the USA began collecting Federal Income Tax. (That alone would be reason enough to die before you had to pay the government)

William was born in Mena, Polk County, Arkansas. The county was named for President James Polk in 1844. Fond memories of picking wild blackberries would cause William to return to the county later in his life, which family members call his "Arkansas itch".

His parents divorced (split up) and he traveled at an early age with his mother to Grayson County, Texas. Here his mother had two daughters, Edna and Angie Wheeler through her new husband Jacob Wheeler.

William met and married Lillie Mary Moore in Eastland county, Texas. They had six children, Eva Mae, William Everette, Harvey Scott, Hugh Ernest, Elsie & Bessie Foster.

Lillie died and William remarried. He married the school teacher, Sadie Sallie Jemiah Svage. They had six children; Hayden, Bert James, Willie Allice, Mabel, Lillian & Guyeula Foster.

He was a farmer most of his life but there was little water available in Rencona. He and his wife Sadie are buried side by side here.
