Clara Appel Services Saturday in Estherville

Mrs. Clara B. Appel, 78, died at Park Manor Nursing Home in Burlington Feb. 11, 1973. She had lived in Estherville as a child.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Reese-Henry Chapel, Estherville, with the Rev. Ronald B. Flentgen of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 18, 1894 in Oak Park, Ill., to August and Clara Reich. She was educated in Estherville schools and was married in 1917 at Primghar to John Appel.

After their marriage, they lived in North Dakota, Chicago, Sioux City and at Warsaw, Ill., for 15 years. She had come to live in Burlington about two years ago.

She was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one brother, Ernest J. Reich, Rockert, Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Strehlow, Casselton, ND., and Mrs. Amelia Jennings, Kalispell, Mont. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.
